Resin Infusion Process Miss Spokane Photos

Why was this project started?

The Miss Spokane Replica project, which is now in progress, was started to see if they could find a less expensive process to build than the P51 used.

What is the Miss Spokane Replica?

This project is a Vintage Unlimited Hydroplane which is a replica of the Miss Spokane which ran from the late 1950's to the early 1960's.

Goals for the Miss Spokane Replica

  1. Lightest and Strongest Hydroplane ever built

  • Reducing hull weight by 50-60%

  1. Using the Smallest part count

  • one piece bottom and sides to include: spnsons and transom (356 sq. ft.)

  • one piece deck (282 sq. ft.)

  1. Making high quality aerospace parts and tooling, which requires high quality and high temperature materials

  1. Reduce or eliminate core materials, ex. Nomax core, form core, balsa wood, all of which have a serious down side

  1. Using the finest products

  • Airtech infusion material

  • API epoxy resin systems

We have a presentation that explains about this project and how you can get involved.
